Inspection, testing and tagging
Onsite inspection and testing is a necessary part of any safety program to help ensure the safety of persons using electrical equipment in the workplace and home.
Inspection and testing deals with the safety of electrical equipment and it's environment, providing a cost-effective approach to safety without jeopardizing the health of personnel or involving excessive equipment downtime.
Items required for inspection and testing are of low voltage single phase and polyphase electrical equipment, connected to an electrical supply by a flexible cord or connecting device. Basically, any electrical item that plugs into a socket.
Plug top, socket or frayed cord replacement
While there are multiple reasons that damage occurs to the protective coating surrounding electrical wires, we understand the immediate need for rectification associated with health and safety. Our team of experts are proficient in identifying electrical danger, potential risks, and are able to determine the safest and most cost effective solution.
Replacing plug tops, sockets or frayed cords ensures your item can continue to be used safely and eliminates the need to throw the item away, meaning a cost efficient and environmentally-friendly outcome.
RCD safety testing
Electrical overloading can have severe consequences including electrical fires and electrocution. Residual Current Device's are designed to quickly disconnect power during electrical faults, preventing dangerous electric currents and fatal electric shocks.
Regular maintenance of portable and fixed RCD's is essential to ensure they remain operational and reliable, keeping your personnel, equipment and area safe.
Equipment register report
Our comprehensive service not only addresses any potential safety risks associated with your portable electrical equipment but also includes an equipment register report detailing all test results.
This ensures our clients are not only compliant with Australian Standards but are also in-line with any insurance policies that may be applicable.
Testing Frequency
The frequency of inspection and testing repetition is determined by the equipment type and by examination of the environment in which the equipment is used or working. Indicative inspection and testing intervals can be found in the Testing Frequency table. However, there will usually be multiple sub-environments within any location and the inspection/testing frequency will be arrived at by an assessment of the actual environment in which the equipment is placed or used.
Competitive pricing
We utilise a fixed base price in conjunction with a sliding scale for items tested and tagged to ensure we provide the most cost effective solutions to our clients. Our fixed price includes testing, printed test tags, a comprehensive results report and asset register, and an automatic reminder service to ensure your electrical equipment is always compliant.
